Practical interpretation of pressure tests of hydraulically fractured vertical wells with finite-conductivity in naturally fractured oil and gas formations

چکیده

Abstract This paper presents a well test interpretation methodology using characteristic points and lines found on the pressure derivative versus time log–log plot for characterization of finite-conductivity fractured vertical hydrocarbon in double-porosity (heterogeneous) formation considering new practical analytical Laplacian model which require less computational have more accuracy than semi-analytical models. Some existing equations are to work model, expressions developed. The developed is successfully tested with synthetical examples.

Investigation of Underground Gas Storage in a Partially Depleted Naturally Fractured Gas Reservoir

In this work, studies of underground gas storage (UGS) were performed on a partially depleted, naturally fractured gas reservoir through compositional simulation. Reservoir dynamic model was calibrated by history matching of about 20 years of researvoir production. Effects of fracture parameters, i.e. fracture shape factor, fracture permeability and porosity were studied. Results show...

Predominance and Metabolic Potential of Halanaerobium spp. in Produced Water from Hydraulically Fractured Marcellus Shale Wells.

Microbial activity in the produced water from hydraulically fractured oil and gas wells may potentially interfere with hydrocarbon production and cause damage to the well and surface infrastructure via corrosion, sulfide release, and fouling. In this study, we surveyed the microbial abundance and community structure of produced water sampled from 42 Marcellus Shale wells in southwestern Pennsyl...

Transient Pressure Analysis of Pressure Sensitive Naturally Fractured Reservoirs

This paper presents the results of a study with the main aim of investigating the effect of considering the pressure sensitivity of the natural fractures of a fissured formation on the transient pressure analysis of well tests. Two motivations for this study were as follows. First, many (or most in some cases) of the producing reservoirs (geothermal and petroleum) are naturally fractured, showi...

Metabolic Capability of a Predominant Halanaerobium sp. in Hydraulically Fractured Gas Wells and Its Implication in Pipeline Corrosion

Microbial activity associated with produced water from hydraulic fracturing operations can lead to gas souring and corrosion of carbon-steel equipment. We examined the microbial ecology of produced water and the prospective role of the prevalent microorganisms in corrosion in a gas production field in the Barnett Shale. The microbial community was mainly composed of halophilic, sulfidogenic bac...

Application of Decline Curve Analysis for Estimating Different Properties of Closed Fractured Reservoirs for Vertical Wells

In this paper, decline curve analysis is used for estimating different parameters of bounded naturally fractured reservoirs. This analysis technique is based on rate transient technique, and it is shown that if production rate is plotted against time on a semi-log graph, straight lines are obtained that can be used to determine important parameters of the closed fractured reservoirs. The equati...
